these are by an artist called larry carlson, what fascinates me with these is the way that he a drawing technique which is beyond traditional and actually stretches further back than that into a classical style to create these twisted, surreal landscapes and subjects. to me they are a lot like the photos from Ikkaku Ochi in the sense that aspects of their visual appearance were never supposed to be seen in the way that i see them yet simply through their nature, they become these stunning, confusing, even repulsive images
